No, I’m not getting married. You all would have heard about it by now if that were the case.
Today’s post is still book/writing related, but with a twist. And it’s going to be QUITE girly. If you’re uncomfortable with that…
As most of you may know, if you’ve followed my blog for a while, I’m a bit obsessed with Pinterest. I was hooked from day one, Christmas day two and a half years ago. Since that time, I’ve had to give up Pinterest for Lent, simply because I spent far too much time on the site. There is just so much to see there that gives me endless ideas for fashion, decor, parties, events, writing, reading, cooking, art… I could go on.
I’ve since curtailed my use of Pinterest, but it has an amazing cache of themed wedding posts. Now, I usually don’t post many wedding pins because I’m nowhere near marriage at this point, but I keep thinking how cool it would be, as a writer, to have a book-themed wedding!
And, lo-and-behold, Pinterest had a million ideas for bringing that about. I just thought I’d share a few and see what you think.
Look at those invitations! It’s just like the pages of an antique book, and an old library card. Perfection! And unique. So different from “typical” wedding invitations.
Such a cool idea! There are cards for each person to type out their words of wisdom and it works as a guest book, too! I love old typewriters. I want to buy one, but then I’d have to have the stuff to keep it in working order… and I just don’t. But I love this idea!
So pretty! For those who think this is sacrilege because it uses book pages, look away! But I still think it’s a cool idea. There were a million options on Pinterest, but this one was simply elegant. Love it! Man, this is such a girly post. But I won’t apologize for it. I’m reveling! Next!

And what better favors to give away at a wedding, but BOOKS! Cleverly wrapped second hand books (unless you’re rich and can afford new). A great way to encourage reading! And they’re pretty!
And of course, we can’t forget the cake. I like this, but the colors are a little much for me. I’m more of a fan of simple, classic colors, so I’d personally switch this up, but it’s a pretty ‘sweet’ idea, isn’t it? 🙂
Programs from vintage books, or at least, that LOOK like vintage books. I’m not going to deny how awesome this is. Pure. Awesome.
And last, but not least, a departing shot of the couple, with a few words for their adoring guests after such a fabulous and unique ceremony and reception.
There was SO much more I could have posted, but some of these are my favorite. What do you all think? I’m a little in love with the whole idea, and I’m such a planner that I could pull this off and it’d look amazing. I have a slight control problem.
Yep. It’s decided. Whoever my groom may be in the future, we’re having a book themed wedding. No questions asked.
