I’m surprised I haven’t seen this on WP yet.
Christopher Lee, one of the most prolific film actors of the past fifty years, died on June 7 at the age of 93. I don’t think this news was leaked right away as it only showed up a couple days ago.
We all know who Christopher Lee is. At least, I hope we all do.
He was Saruman in the Lord of the Rings. Count Dooku in the more recent Star Wars movies. Lucas de Beaumonoir in Ivanhoe. Rochefort in the 1973 Three Musketeers. The infamous Dracula from the 1970s. And he even had a go at Sherlock Holmes once.
I’ve watched interviews with him in which he openly admitted that many of the movies he did weren’t all that great, but he wasn’t ashamed, simply stating facts.
He was also an amazing linguist and could hold conversations in multiple languages. I believe he still holds the record for number of roles he’s done in film. Well over two hundred! Dang!
He was an amazingly talented and inspirational actor to many people and lived through a great many trials. He fought in WWII and worked with British Intelligence. He met so many influential people I’ve always enjoyed listening to his interviews. There is so much he learned and could pass along.
